The Broken Arm

Another great new café in the Haut-Marais area of Paris that I've had the pleasure of visiting twice.

Like Singapore, Paris is enjoying a wave of artisan cafés opening up everywhere and I want to go to all of them!

Their blueberry cheesecake is delicious with coffee!

Weekend musings

Thank you for all your emails and wishes :)

Now that the wedding is over, months of juggling work back in Singapore and wedding prep have ended and I now feel a certain sense of emptiness. I now have too much time on my hands! On another note, that means I will be blogging very often!

Many of you have asked where we will be going for our honeymoon... the truth is, we have been travelling so much in the 3 years we were together, be it for work or holidays or simply to meet each other.. that we can't be happier just spending time together at home.

We will be overhauling the apartment with major renovation works this summer and I will need to return often to Singapore as well so no big travel plans are on the horizon.

We will however try to spend more time in the countryside especially in Normandy or just around my town. It's funny how as we age, we long for peace and quiet rather than the hustle and bustle of a big city. x

Bundle up

One of the things I do when I come to Paris is always to head straight to COS in the Marais for some shopping.
They've been around for a few years now since my flying days and they always have great stuff.
I fell for these shoes and a thick sweater to bundle up in during this erratic spring weather!

Wedding diary II

After the official ceremony at the town hall, we held a big family lunch at my mum-in-law's house followed by a cocktail, dinner and dancing.

We were so happy to see the sun and I am grateful to my mum-in-law for graciously opening up her house and garden for our wedding.

It was a very long day. Given that lunch finished at 530pm and the first guest arrived 30mins later, I only had time to change into another dress, a simple long gown from Cedric Charlier. No shower, no touchups, no drink!

So happy that my good friends from Singapore came to attend everything!

The highlight of the day was Stefan Leyshon's performance during lunch & dinner.
He knew my husband from work and very kindly performed some magic for us... he was amazing, charming the women especially haha.

After the sun set, we moved into a tent which had been set up in the garden for dinner and dancing.
Given that it was the only sunny day in the whole week but we were still hovering below 10degs in the evenings, it was really nice to go into a heated tent.

Our first dance!

In France, the surest way to know if your guests enjoyed themselves at a party is the length of time they spend on the dance floor.

Given that the last guest left the dance floor at 3am, I think it was pretty safe to say they had a good time ;)

Though it was freezing outside (this is an exceptionally cold spring we are having), the tent was warm with the love of family and friends. xx

wedding diary I

Last weekend was our wedding and it was just amazing.
The rain stopped and gave us clear blue skies.

We decided to do the civil ceremony at the town hall on Friday so we could concentrate on family lunch and our dinner party on Saturday.

I wore a simple dress from Valentino and my bouquet was wild flowers and lots of foliage from the fields since I hate big flowers for weddings!

With 2 of our witnesses.

With my girlfriends who flew to France to attend the wedding!

We exchanged simple rose gold rings in the presence of the mayor who was kind enough to marry us despite his busy schedule.

My husband proposed to me months ago with a diamond & sapphire ring from his family which was also the engagement ring of his great great grandmother in 1867.
Each time I wear it, I feel like I'm wearing a piece of his family history with me :)

More pictures to come xx
