Bundle up

One of the things I do when I come to Paris is always to head straight to COS in the Marais for some shopping. 

They've been around for a few years now since my flying days and they always have great stuff.

I fell for these shoes and a thick sweater to bundle up in during this erratic spring weather!

Bar extraordinaire

Over the weekend, I had the chance to pop by a beautiful bar in a nondescript office building in Singapore.

It couldnt possibly rival the sky-top bars that are aplenty in the city, but its 12-metre high wine rack and opulent decor took my breath away. A nice quiet place to listen to jazz, have a drink and actually hear yourself talk.

Another easy dress for CNY visiting.. hope you had a good celebration, now it's back to work for most of us..

Valentino Haute Couture 2013

It doesn't matter that I probably can never afford to buy a single piece of haute couture, but it gives such pleasure during a hectic work day to see beautiful images of an haute couture collection. And no one does it better than Valentino.

"Couture has to be magical," so says Pierpaolo Piccioli, one half of the talented duo who after taking over the helm at Valentino, just made me fall in love every season.

Tea at Ladurée is a must whenever I'm in Paris... not so much for their macarons as I'm not a big fan, but the rose religieuse which is amazing.

Let's buy a swimsuit

As summer temperatures rise beyond bearable, every girl needs some swimwear in her wardrobe for cooling off at the pool... Here are some i have my eye on or have bought:

Skull piece swimsuit from The Kooples... easily my favorite!

But I took this cos it gives more support & I love the dark marine color... from Monoprix, a french supermarket. I buy most of my basics from there... it's an unusually chic supermarket.

La Perla... we hardly see a nice nude-colored bikini!

Corset bikini set from We Are Handsome... I love the photo prints they always have on their swimwear... Isn't it more chic & flattering to wear silk shorts instead of tight bikini bottoms sometimes?

Adidas by Stella mcCartney asymmetric bikini. I got mine in black & can't wait to wear it cos it looks so pretty & unusual. Though I could not bring myself to buy the frilly bottom which made non-models look like whales. All the sportswear I've owned over the years come from the Stella range, shorts, gloves, tops... they promise Adidas comfort & performance but doesnt ever compromise on design. Cos let's be honest, we feel betta when we're decked out in pretty clothes to do any kind of sport & i can't be friends with anyone who thinks otherwise lol.

Add some good sunscreen & we are ready to hit the pool or beach... though in reality, i've been holing up with air-conditioning & ice-cream, Singapore is soooo hot. xx
