F1 Singapore Grand Prix

Every year since 2008, Singapore hosts the Grand Prix, the only night race on the F1 calendar. During the 3-day event, roads are closed, tourists fly in, parties are held and the whole nation generally gets into a frenzy because well, it's hard NOT to pay attention to it.

The noise is deafening beyond words and the atmosphere is electrifying. Plus the race is set amidst the colors of the city skyline.

Red Bull and Mercedes? Couldn't tell... the cars were so fast they zoomed past in a fraction of a second.

And of course, dinner before at Gluttons Bay is a must.

Hoshino Coffee's pancakes

are the best way to pass a quiet afternoon by yourself.
I've been so busy meeting up with friends and settling family matters that these few weeks literally flew by!
I return to Paris next week and summer would have gone just like that.

At Sun with Moon

Panfried foie gras to rival any restaurant in Paris.

The most delicious Aburi Bara chirashi don

Waiting for the kamameshi rice to be ready.
Love the hour glass they put on top!

And it's ready. Salmon, teriyaki chicken and fish roe goodness with chestnut flavored rice.

Dessert was the signature tofu cheesecake whose presentation was beautiful. One could imagine the crane flying off once the cage was lifted.

With mummy dearest for some coffee to round off a perfect Saturday evening x

Bar extraordinaire

Over the weekend, I had the chance to pop by a beautiful bar in a nondescript office building in Singapore.

It couldnt possibly rival the sky-top bars that are aplenty in the city, but its 12-metre high wine rack and opulent decor took my breath away. A nice quiet place to listen to jazz, have a drink and actually hear yourself talk.

Another easy dress for CNY visiting.. hope you had a good celebration, now it's back to work for most of us..

CSHH coffee

Love the CSHH concept - cafe within a shophouse with the greatest name ever!

Super crowded on weekends with coffee lovers waiting patiently to get their fix.

Me included.

With my friend to celebrate her birthday!

Love the outdoor area... Laidback and no frills, I can wear my slippers & no one cares. :)

It's been a while... this space is looking empty!

I've been so caught up in work and meeting friends and spending time with family that I didnt even realise January is almost over. Taking stock of 2012, it was a year fraught with grave misfortune for my family so I'm really glad 2013 is here.

Despite best intentions to write more, I often find myself shunning the laptop after work or any screens with words. However, beautiful photos are always a pleasure, even for the tired eyes. And so it is not uncommon to find me alone at lunch hours in a lovely café, flipping thru a magazine or my favorite blogs, just relaxing and enjoying a coffee and dessert.

When the bell rings

Our bank had its annual dinner and dance last night and the theme was "Back To School".
All of us had to wear uniforms and tie our hair in 2 ponytails which was pretty fun.

Fooling around with my good friend Cillia; we were in charge of makeup for the dancers and cheerleaders.

Love his hair!

My fun colleagues while waiting for dinner!
