Mt Pilatus

So i was in Zurich again over the weekend... & what a beautiful weekend it was.
My best friend came from London after a hectic week of work & we had a blast up at Mt Pilatus.

We took the cable car from Kriens... somewhere very near Lucerne...
It was fun figuring out where to go, where to take the bus/train & pigging out on sausages along the way.

On our way up the mountain... snow snow everywhere.

We giggled at the lost boys.... Little did we know that 3 hours later, we would suffer the same fate with the wooden sledges.

At the second stop

View from near the top of Mt Pilatus, 2120m above sea level.

Fooling around in the snow.

Making our way to the top

We brave the strong winds with pants and giggles.

The view is amazing. Unreal.

We decide to take one of the wooden sledges each.. and make our way from the second to the first station for the last cable car down to the foot.

A tad ambitious, seeing that my friend could not even stop her sledge from sliding down.
This was BEFORE we even got on it.

Getting ready.
But alas, we discovered that easy as it seemed, it would take us hours to go down the mountain. A fellow (and more experienced) sledger confirmed this while trying very hard not to laugh at the 2 goofy and panicky girls.
So we ended up running BACK UP the slopes with the sledge to catch the cable car.
aahhh the silly things we get up to.

The next day we took a leisurely stroll to the lake of Zurich where we excitedly planned our next trip & whined about going home.

Mt Titlis

I go to Zurich again and this time Mount Titlis beckons.

Driving along the Swiss countryside.

Taking the cable car up to the summit. Clouds and fog part to reveal the beautiful mountains I associate with Switzerland.

It is slightly above 0 deg... all i know is that i'm not properly dressed at all. My ballet flats are soaked thru within a minute of standing in the snow. I had to rent very ugly boots but they allowed me to shuffle happily at least.

I'm such a tourist i know! But it's fun.

Elmo enjoys the snow too.

Taking the Ice Flyer down into the glacier. The silence is only interrupted by streams of water finding their way through the ice and rock.

I'm freeeeeeeezing cold!

Magnificent view from the top. We're at 3200 metres above sea level.

The glacier gives way to signs of summer. During winter, all of these peaks are covered in snow and you can ski 82 km all the way down.

Arik and me at the lake again. This trip i meet some real mean people and i wonder why more people cant be like my dear friend. He's so down-to-earth despite having several medical patents under his name. We celebrate his latest one because it will save many lives though it's still top secret. But it's gonna be very exciting.

I find it disgusting how some people show off their every single achievement and expect us to be immediately impressed. They take stock of everything based on what they know, without stopping to think that maybe they still have alot to learn.

Judgmental people have no place in my world.

Stopping for a drink on the way back to my hotel.

Nice bar we'll check out next time!

une reve

A swiss dream.

Zurich

It was a beautiful 2 days in Zurich... surreal but beautiful. Once in a while, u cross paths with someone who's so different from u and yet... the connection transcends culture, age, upbringing and lifestyle.

The lake of Zurich... u can apparently drink from it because it's so clean.

Walking around the Old town...

Great evening out @ V

But i think the most amazing coincidence was seeing Chagall's works in the Fraumunster I'm no artist but somehow I really like Chagall... his paintings are always so ethereal and fluid.. and romantic.

Thank u for showing me Zurich with yr heart.

Let's have the same dream again someday.
