multi-tasker & the French election

A beautiful & useful piece in black & grey that takes you from the bed to school to a cocktail... I love!

Tomorrow night France will welcome its new president. I have listened intently to both camps, heard the debate & news on TV.. no one could have stayed immune to the elections. Since I live with someone whose grandfather was a senator, politics which had always been important to the family, has taken on immense proportions, fuelling intense debates & table-slapping & long lunches discussing the state of France today. However, I think unpleasant reforms will be in place & perhaps they can be accepted more easily if it was administered by a left wing president than someone who is viewed to favor only the rich.

Whatever the result, the moral of the story is - Never underestimate your opponents & your environment, especially when politics depends alot on luck. If Dominique Strauss-Kahn had not been arrested, François Hollande would never have enjoyed such a meteoric rise. A booming economy can help even a mediocre president get re-elected & vice versa.
