Had a lovely time in Fukuoka.. the city is rather like other Japanese cities, except that the people are somewhat neater & more quiet. Home to 1.5 million Japanese only, it is surprisingly 'spacious' and very clean.
Our hotel sits on Canal City which has a small river running thru the entire shopping & entertainment complex.. really cool!
I pay a visit to one of the most famous ramen stalls in Fukuoka... what can u say about a steaming bowl of pork knuckle broth on a 2 deg evening? :D I can see why it's famous... the soup & noodles are quite unlike anything i've eaten in singapore. It's absolutely delicious!
I know i'm such a pig but i love to soak in the tub after dinner... plus this hotel allows me to watch my bbc Hardtalk from the tub
Gettin ready to explore the city... & buy lotsa stuff!
I always make it a point to buy one of my favorite snacks Fran from japan cos it just tastes different somehow... plus i got the limited edition ones!
Speaking of which, i always buy a few tubs of Meiji's Amino collagen whenever i go to Japan... think it retails at 50 plus dollars here but guess what? In Japan it costs a mere 22 dollars and i buy it at the more upmarket stores for convenience. If u bother to go to the supermarket, u can get it for abt 17 dollars!!! The cheek of these wicked retailers!
